This paper installation of a city complete with a railway and electric lights, is by Wataru Itou, an art student in Tokyo. It was constructed over four years and exhibited at the Castle On The Ocean papercraft exhibition. Now that’s what I call papercraft…

Paper Works exhibition at Flow Gallery is running from July 24th until September 19th and features amazing paper art by a number of artists. There will also be workshops run by two of the artists – Lizzie Thomas on 25th July, and Michelle Holden on the 12th September.

I’ve just discovered the excellent papercuts of Megan Brain, a graduate of the Academy of Art in San Francisco. She started making paper sculptures during her studies at Chouinard School Of Art in Pasadena, and she works primarily with paper, ‘cartoon colour’, cell vinyl, acrylic paint and strong glue.
