Over the last few days I’ve discovered some absolutely yummy handmade natural soaps scattered throughout the interwebs, and coincidentally, all of their producers are selling their wares on Etsy.  I have a serious weakness for bubbly, foamy, fragrant bathroom goodies (see my previous Lush post!) and these are good enough to eat…. I feel a soap buying binge coming on 🙂

My only problem was narrowing it down to one or two from each of these sellers – it’s well worth having a browse through their shops because literally everything listed is gorgeous.

(Incidentally, this blog is totally devoted to all things bathing related, incuding many, many more lovely soaps.)

From BBC News – “A series of controlled explosions has sunk a World War II US troop ship to create an artificial reef off Florida.  The General Hoyt S Vandenberg sank in less than two minutes after experts detonated explosives off Key West.

The ship, 523ft long (160m), settled on the bottom of the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary.  Officials hope the reef will attract divers, boosting the economy by $8m (£5m). They also say fish, coral and other marine life will be drawn to it”. (story continued here)

It’s been a while since I ventured onto the Lush website (mostly because I lose control and buy everything), but while I was browsing (and drooling) there today, I discovered something that made me do a little happy dance – Retro Lush!!  All the old favourites that were discontinued are for sale again on their site, exclusively by mail order.  Ibiza Party Shampoo (which really smells like Ibiza) is back!  And Back For Breakfast Shower Gel!  And World Peace Bath Ballistic!

I’m probably way more excited about Retro Lush than one should be about bath products… professional help is being sought 😛

Le Clochard is a line of pure cotton bedding printed with a photo image of cardboard boxes, designed by Erik van Loo and Peggy van Neer.  A large portion of the proceeds from the sale of these will go to SZN, the foundation for homeless youngsters in the Netherlands and will be used to fund housing projects which prioritise supporting young people in finding work or continuing their education.

I’m incredibly fussy when it comes to tiles – I just don’t often come across many that I could live with, but I really like these.  Designed by Piero Fornasetti for Ceramica Bardelli, these were featured at the Milan Design Week this year.
