The Waste Is The Best furniture collection from Skate Sudy House, is made 100% of throwaway materials and is constructed from excess skateboard cutouts of laminated wood.

Skate Study House’s collection of furniture and home accessories made from skateboard components includes the Jet Set Lounger – instantly recognisable now having been featured in many design blogs and publications.  The company have also previously donated skate bookshelves to the Tony Hawk Foundation for the auction at Stand Up For Skateparks, in order to raise money to build free public skateparks across the US.

Yay, it looks like Levi’s are getting in on the repurposing act with their Re-used Jeans Shoes, part of the Red Tab Collection.  They are made from ‘authentic pre-loved Levi’s jeans’, and each pair is unique, retaining many of the features of the original jeans such as the yellow stitching, coin pockets, belt loops and fly stud buttons.

George Pakenham, a 59 year old Wall Street mortgage broker is on a mission in New York, to stop idling vehicles from polluting the air, causing health issues, and wasting money and precious resources.

Reddish was founded in 2002 by Israeli  Industrial designers Naama Steinbock and Idan Friedman.  Their clever and unusual designs include a tattooed table, a digital cuckoo clock and a cross-stitched bread board – and according to themselves, they ‘spend most of the time helping objects feel better about themselves.’
