Si Scott Exhibition At Electrik Sheep
Posted September 1, 2009on:
An exhibition of work by illustrator Si Scott will open on Thursday 3rd September 6pm at Electrik Sheep gallery. If you can’t make it to the exhibition, never fear – Si’s work will also be on the Electrik Sheep website.
Thanks to Laura for sending me the following press release:-
‘Regal stags and elegant swans sound a million miles away from the modern concept of contemporary art and sound more at home in the form of an oil painting in the National Gallery not a gallery named after the classic si-fi book “Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep”. A gallery more know for showing and selling works buy the big players in Street art such as Faile, Eine, D*Face and Eelus.
But from 3rd – 30th of September Si Scott’s instantly recognisable and stunning illustration style will grace the walls of the Electrik Sheep gallery and be anything but traditional.
His swirling menagerie of obsessively hand-drawn pen and ink illustrated creatures, punctuated by typography, will inhabit limited edition prints spanning his new venture into the world of art. Plus a number of new pieces exclusive to the show at Electrik Sheep.
Si Scott is a graphic designer and illustrator who is the driving force behind the UK-based Si Scott Studio. Influenced by both the traditional an the modern some of his clients have included BBC TV, Burton, GQ, Hugo Boss, MTV, Unicef and Volvo, and he is also a regular contributor to clothing label Electronic Poet.
All pieces will also be released online at the same time for those of you unable to make the trip.
The show will open on August 6th at 6pm with one of Electrik Sheep’s infamous street parties and the kind chaps at Bar Tokyo, on their fabulous roof terrace, will host the after party. A moment’s hop, skip and jump from the gallery.
All are welcome.. see you there!’
