This is a great before and after – Kathryn worked her magic on an old telephone table that was fit for the dump, using paint for Colortrend and fabric from Ikea. I think this is better than anything you could buy new – more proof that a little creativity goes a long way 🙂
Here’s an excellent example of a tired old piece of furniture being brought back to life with a bang. Maggie has transformed this second hand sideboard into an incredibly cute toy storage solution which now takes pride of place in the playroom 🙂
Here are two fabulous examples of worn out, drab old furniture being brought back to life with a little TLC… (aka from Eeew to Ooooh! :P)
First – Claires’ boring, old fashioned telephone table… she took one of the most un-hip items of furniture imaginable, and made it into a bright modern piece that anyone would be proud to have in their hallway.
Next, Eily found herself in posession of various pieces of furniture when she bought an old cottage, and among them was this pretty scary fireside chair. Several layers of fabric had to come off, but what an elegant transformation – it’s barely recognisable as the same chair!
Life Is Suite are a UK based company who breathe new life into old furniture in the most imaginative and creative way.
“Using secondhand tea cloths and aprons, Life is Suite has created a sofa with a narrative. Pictures, homilies, poems and recipes tell a story of a Nan’s life, evoking happy memories tinges with nostalgia. As a chair for modern users there are pockets for remote controls, and other paraphernalia. The sofa has been created by Stuart Parker and Paul Green for Life is Suite.”
Before and after by Craftster.org member cause effect, who repurposed a stop sign and an old table into this really cool conversation piece… love it 🙂
