Check out this Q&A with Josh Jakus over at Design Public. Josh designs and manufactures his range of felt and rubber pieces from factory excess fibres and recycled tires.
Alexandra Ferguson‘s felt pillows are made from 100% post consumer recycled felt, recycled from plastic water bottles. It takes about four bottles to make the felt used for one pillow – so for each one made, that’s four less bottles going to landfill.
Alexandra made her very first pillows as gifts, and if it hadn’t been for the prompting of a friends’ sister, they would have been her last – but she put them on sale and has been producing them ever since.
Each pillow is made by hand at a studio in Westchester County, New York, so each is one of a kind.
