This was going to be one post with my current favourite vintage bits, but before I knew what was going on I had three pages of things bookmarked (as you do), so I’m gonna have to break it down into sections, starting with coloured glass because I just can’t resist the stuff 😀

I’ve just blown off my entire afternoon’s to-do list because I got totally sidetracked by Katherine Raz’s fantastic blog, Back Garage.  If you have a taste for juicy mid-century goodness, but don’t know your Eames from your elbow – she rounds it up, breaks it down, tells you what it is, how to find it and how to know when you’ve got it.  That, and endless advice and useful tips and tricks for getting your second-hand style on.   This blog is a goldmine for thrift shoppers, car booters, eBayers and junk junkies everywhere. 😀

Bitter Betty has posted this excellent tutorial for an authentic  mid century couch, straight from the pages of The Mechanix Illustrated How- To-Do-It Encyclopedia Volume 6, 1961 edition! 😀
